I´m back from Alta Gracia. Nice town. I finally got a peak at something that other than city streets and high rise apartments. The Che Museum was interesting. Kind of cool to hang out in a place with so much history. I took a picture with Che's motorcycle.. hopefully it turns out (I have resorted to a disposable camera for now). The Museum was inaugurated in 2001 with speacial appearances from U.S.A.'s favorite people... Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez! It was the last room in the exhibit.. tons of pictures of Fidel and Hugo standing in the exact same spot that I was. Weird...
After getting our fill of, well.... you know. We went to check out some other sites. A Jesuit church and musuem. I was pretty happy to figure out how the local transport system works.. its a bit different than the long distance rides that pick you up and drop you at the large colectivos (bus stations). Having learned the system I can trek out of town on some more day trips to fun places.. many adventures await!
Getting to that decade comment. Argentinians love the 80's. Its like stepping into the twilight zone here. All of the music here, radio, clubs, you name it.... 80´s. If anybody pours any more sugar on me I´m gonna freak out. Its movies too. Rocky is huge here. Along with Steven Segal... Not quite 80's, I know. Its just an interesting cultural observation. Well its free empananda night here at the hostel so I´m going to go pig out!

It's all fun and games until you come back rockin an 80's mullet...then it's just fun. Glad to see you're up and runnin again. Do they have queso blanco there? I've only had it in Puerto Rico, it's a yummy cheese, if you find it...have at it. If you've heard pour some sugar on me, I'm sure you've also had your fair share of livin on a prayer. Don't try to fight it, the rhythm is going to get you. Have an empanada for me.

Ry, Kat, Lindsey and I had brunch this morning. He's in town for a wedding and Lindsey and I did a race in Central Park. We started with our Bloody Mary's and the topic quickly turned to your trip. After reading your blog I have to say Ryan wasn't exaggerating... I could feel your frustration when you realized you actually handed the thief you back pack. Glad you're ok and you're right it's just stuff. It should serve you well for the rest of your trip... nothing like a healthy dose of paranoia. Are you running? Probably no more shoes.
